March 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat is organizing a Technical Workshop on Integrating Practices, Tools and Systems for Climate Risk Assessment and Management and Disaster Risk Reduction Strategies into National Policies and Programmes from 10-12 March 2009, in Havana, Cuba.
The workshop, organized in collaboration with the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction, will bring together experts to share integration practices and lessons learned, identify gaps and needs, and address barriers in order to facilitate successful integration. The workshop is being held under the Nairobi Work Programme, a five-year programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change. The outcomes will be presented to the UNFCCC Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice for further consideration. [Workshop Website] [IISDRS coverage]
