31 May 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a technical paper on the cost of implementing methodologies and monitoring systems relating to estimates of emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, the assessment of carbon stocks and greenhouse gas emissions from changes in forest cover, and the enhancement of forest carbon stocks (FCCC/TP/2009/1).

The paper was prepared by the Secretariat further to a request by the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) at its 29th session. It will be considered by SBSTA at its 30th session, which will take place in Bonn, Germany, from 1-10 June 2009. [The Technical Paper]
