UNFCCC Secretariat Announces Publication of a JI Project Design Document Determination

© UNFCCC15 September 2009: The determination regarding the project design document (PDD) for the joint implementation (JI) project “Improvement of the Energy Efficiency at Energomashspetsstal (EMSS), Kramatorsk, Ukraine” has been submitted to the UNFCCC Secretariat by an accredited independent entity (AIE).

This action is pursuant to decision 9/CMP.1 (JI Guidelines), which requires that under the JI Track 2 procedure, the AIE shall make its determination regarding a JI PDD publicly available through the Secretariat, together with an explanation of its reasons, including a summary of comments received and a report of how due account was taken of them. The Guidelines also provide that a determination regarding a PDD shall be deemed final 45 days after the date on which it is made public, unless a Party involved in the project or three of the members of the JI Supervisory Committee (JISC) request a review.
