19 October 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the in-depth review (FCCC/IDR.5/MCO) of the fifth national communication (NC5) of Monaco conducted by an expert review team (ERT) in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Convention and Article 8 of the Kyoto Protocol.

The ERT concludes that the NC5 generally provides a good overview of the national climate change policy of Monaco. The information provided in the NC5 covers all sections required by the UNFCCC reporting guidelines, and most of the supplementary information under Article 7, paragraph 2, of the Kyoto Protocol. Monaco considered a few recommendations provided in the report of the centralized in-depth review of the fourth national communication (NC4) of Monaco. The ERT commended Monaco for the effort that it made to improve its reporting. The supplementary information on the minimization of adverse impacts was insufficiently complete, but mostly transparent and provided on time.
