UNFCCC Releases Submissions on Engagement of Observers

The submissions will be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation at its 33rd session, to be held in Cancun, Mexico.

4 October 2010: The UNFCCC Secretary has released a document containing five submissions from parties outlining their views on ways to enhance the engagement of observer organizations (FCCC/SBI/2010/MISC.8).

The submissions were received from: Belgium and the European Commission on behalf of the EU and its member States; Bolivia ; Mexico on ways to enhance the engagement of observer organizations, and on ways to enhance the participation of legislators; and the US. In addition, submissions received from accredited intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) on this issue have been posted on the UNFCCC website. The submissions will be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) at its 33rd session, to be held in Cancun, Mexico, from 30 November-4 December 2010.
