13 March 2014: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the provisional agendas for the 40th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), which will take place in Bonn, Germany, from 4-15 June 2014.

SBSTA 40 is scheduled to address, inter alia: the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change; the development and transfer of technologies and implementation of the Technology Mechanism; methodological guidance for activities relating to REDD+; research and systematic observation; the 2013–2015 review; issues relating to agriculture; the Warsaw international mechanism for loss and damage associated with climate change impacts; impact of the implementation of response measures; methodological issues under the Convention and the the Kyoto Protocol; market and non-market mechanisms under the Convention; work programme on clarification of quantified economy-wide emission reduction targets of developed countrie; scientific, technical and socioeconomic aspects of mitigation of climate change; and cooperation with other international organizations.

SBI 40 is scheduled to address, inter alia: reporting and review of Annex I and non-Annex I parties; matters relating to the mechanisms under the Kyoto Protocol; matters relating to the least developed countries (LDCs); national adaptation plans (NAPs); the Warsaw international mechanism for loss and damage associated with climate change impacts; second review of the Adaptation Fund; development and transfer of technologies and implementation of the Technology Mechanism; Poznan strategic programme on technology transfer; capacity-building; Article 6 of the Convention (education, training and public awareness); impact of the implementation of response measures; the 2013-2015 review; arrangements for intergovernmental meetings; and administrative, financial and institutional matters.
