UNFCCC Releases Information on Ecosystem-based Approaches to Adaptation

UNFCCC16 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report (FCCC/SBSTA/2011/INF.8) compiling information on ecosystem-based approaches to adaptation. With a synthesis of the state of knowledge on the topic, the report provides an overview of how ecosystems can play a role in helping people adapt to climate change.

The report, which was prepared in the context of the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change, highlights examples and relevant knowledge products, and discusses issues related to the understanding and implementation of ecosystem-based approaches to adaptation. The report covers all types of ecosystems and geographic regions.
