UNFCCC Releases April Meeting Documents

The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the provisional agendas (AS/AGEN/PART/FEB/11) for the AWG-KP 16 and the AWG-LCA 14, scheduled to take place from 5-8 April 2011, in Bangkok, Thailand, as well as information on visas and online registration.

4 March 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the provisional agendas (AS/AGEN/PART/FEB/11) for the 16th session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP 16) and the 14th session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA 14), scheduled to take place from 5-8 April 2011, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The provisional annotated agenda for the AWG-KP (FCCC/KP/AWG/2011/1) indicates that it will be invited to continue consideration of: amendments to the Kyoto Protocol pursuant to Article 3.9; land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF); emissions trading and the project-based mechanisms; other issues; and potential consequences and further advance work on proposals contained in the AWG-KP 15 report.

The UNFCCC Secretariat has also released the following documents for the April session: a notification to intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) (CAS/OBS/FEB/11) including information on online registration; and information on visas (CAS/INF/FEB11).

The second part of AWG-KP 16 will be held in conjunction with the second part of the AWG- LCA 14 and the 34th sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) in Bonn, Germany, in June 2011.
