UNFCCC Releases Annual Report of Compliance Committee to COP/MOP

The annual report of the Kyoto Protocol Compliance Committee to the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP) covers the activities undertaken by the Compliance Committee from 19 September 2010 to 13 October 2011.

It contains a summary of organizational matters such as membership, privileges and immunities for members and alternate members, and working arrangements.

3 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the annual report of the Kyoto Protocol Compliance Committee to the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP), covering activities undertaken from 19 September 2010 to 13 October 2011 (FCCC/KP/CMP/2011/5).

The report contains a summary of organizational matters such as membership, privileges and immunities for members and alternate members, and working arrangements. It also summarizes the work undertaken by the Committee during the reporting period, including: further consideration by the enforcement branch of the questions of implementation with respect to Bulgaria and Croatia; consideration by the enforcement branch of three new questions of implementation with respect to Lithuania, Romania and Ukraine; discussions of the facilitative branch on provisions relating to facilitation; and discussions of the plenary of the Compliance Committee on issues relating to the status of reports of expert review teams and the consistency of reviews under Protocol Article 8 (review). It also provides a report on the budget for the work of the Committee, as well as the resources required for the biennium 2012-2013.
