UNFCCC8 April 2014: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report on the in-forum workshop on ‘cooperation on response strategies’ under the work programme on the impact of the implementation of response measures (FCCC/SB/2014/INF.1).

The workshop was held on 12 November 2013, in Warsaw, Poland, during the 39th sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 39) and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 39). It was co-chaired by Richard Muyungi, SBSTA Chair, and Tomasz Chruszczow, SBI Chair, and was attended by representatives of parties, international organizations and research institutions, as well as experts.

During the workshop, an expert provided participants with an overview of the work of the forum, highlighting that the objective of the work programme is to improve the understanding of the impact of the implementation of response measures. The workshop also included sessions during which both parties and organizations presented information, experiences, best practices and views relating to the impact of implementation of response measures.

At their 40th session taking place in June 2014, the SBSTA and SBI may wish to take note of the information contained in the report when conducting the review of the work of the forum, including the need for its continuation, with a view to providing recommendations to the 20th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 20).
