28 March 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a synthesis report (FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/3) of the views submitted by parties on the composition of, and modalities and procedures for, the Adaptation Committee, including linkages with other relevant institutional arrangements.

The document reports on the proposed role, objectives and guiding principles of the Committee, and elaborates on suggested operational modalities and activities to perform the agreed functions of the Adaptation Committee. Following a discussion of the proposed linkages of the Adaptation Committee with other institutional arrangements under and outside the Convention, the document concludes with a synthesis of suggested organizational and governance modalities and procedures, including composition and linkage to the Conference of the Parties and the subsidiary bodies.

The UNFCCC Secretariat has also published an addendum consisting of a further submission (FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/MISC.1/Add.1), from Argentina, containing views on the composition of, and modalities and procedures for, the Adaptation Committee, including linkages with other relevant institutional arrangements. These documents will be considered by the 14th session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action (AWG-LCA).
