UNFCCC Publishes Standing Committee’s Report to the COP

The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report of the Standing Committee, which was established to assist the COP in exercising its functions with respect to the Convention's financial mechanism.

The report outlines the committee's work in 2012, as well as its 2013-2015 work programme.

UNFCCC24 October 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report of the Standing Committee to the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the UNFCCC, containing information and recommendations on the Standing Committee’s work for 2012 (FCCC/CP/2012/4).

The Standing Committee was established by the COP to assist it in exercising its functions with respect to the financial mechanism of the UNFCCC. This report contains the Standing Committee’s recommendations to be considered by the COP at its 18th session, including in relation to the review of the financial mechanism, and the composition and modalities of the committee.

The report also summarizes all aspects of the Standing Committee’s work in 2012, including the proceedings and discussions at its two meetings held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 6-8 September, and in Cape Town, South Africa, from 4-6 October. In addition, it contains the 2013-2015 work programme of the Standing Committee, together with the list of nominated committee members, the preliminary elements of the committee’s forum, and the committee’s revised composition and working modalities.
