23 September 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published three documents on developed country mitigation, agriculture and developed country reporting. These documents will be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) at its 39th session, taking place in November 2013, in Warsaw, Poland.

The first document contains the report of the event on developed countries’ quantified economy-wide emission reduction targets, which took place on 6 June 2013, in Bonn, Germany (FCCC/SBSTA/2013/INF.10 ).

The second document contains the submissions of parties outlining their views on the current state of scientific knowledge on how to enhance the adaptation of agriculture to climate change impacts (FCCC/SBSTA/2013/MISC.17). The submissions have been received from: Burundi; Japan; Kenya; the EU; Malawi; Mali, on behalf of the Like-minded Developing Countries; Nepal, on behalf of the least developed countries (LDCs); New Zealand; South Africa; Swaziland on behalf of the African States; the US; Uzbekistan; and Zambia.

The final document contains the synthesis report on the parties’ submissions on the revision of the review guidelines for developed country parties (FCCC/SBSTA/2013/INF.5). The consideration of the synthesis report is part of the SBSTA work programme on the revision of the guidelines for the review of biennial reports and national communications, as well as the review of national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories for developed country Parties.
