UNFCCC Publishes Results of Second Phase of NWP Implementation

20 September 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a summary of the results (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/10) of the second phase of the implementation of the Nairobi work programme (NWP) on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change for the period up to the 32nd session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 32).

The summary report provides an overview of the outcomes of activities under the NWP completed during its second phase and up to SBSTA 32. The report contains information on the outcomes of completed activities undertaken to assist all parties in improving understanding and assessment of impacts, vulnerability and adaptation, and in making informed decisions on adaptation. It also contains information on how organizations, institutions, experts, communities and the private sector have been engaged, how adaptation actions have been catalyzed and how information and knowledge products have been developed and disseminated. The report concludes with how the objective and expected outcomes of the NWP have been achieved and with issues for further consideration, including those that could be forwarded to the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) for its consideration.
