UNFCCC Publishes Report on Capacity Building Activities

The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report compiling and synthesizing information on the capacity-building activities of the Consultative Group of Experts on non-Annex I National Communications, the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) Expert Group, and the Technology Executive Committee.

29 August 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report of the capacity-building work undertaken by bodies established under the UNFCCC (FCCC/SBI/2012/22). The report compiles and synthesizes information on the capacity-building activities of these bodies.

The report was prepared to support the capacity-building discussions held at the first meeting of the Durban Forum on Capacity-building, which took place during the 36th session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 36). It is also intended for further consideration by SBI 37. It summarizes the capacity-building activities of the following Convention bodies: the Consultative Group of Experts on non-Annex I National Communications; the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) Expert Group; and the Technology Executive Committee.

The report will be considered by the Durban Forum on Capacity-building during SBI 37, with a view to further enhancing the monitoring and review of capacity-building activities in developing countries.
