The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the provisional agenda for the 38th session of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 38) to be held in Bonn, Germany, from 3-14 June 2013.
17 April 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the provisional agenda for the 38th session of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 38) to be held in Bonn, Germany, from 3-14 June 2013.
According to the provisional agenda, at its 38th session, SBI will address: issues related to national communications; Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) by developing countries; matters relating to the mechanisms under the Kyoto Protocol; impact of the implementation of response measures; National Adaptation Plans (NAPs); and approaches to address loss and damage.
Other relevant and recently incorportated issues include: coordination of support for the implementation of activities in relation to mitigation actions in the forest sector by developing countries, including institutional arrangements; the 2013-2015 Review; and matters relating to finance.
SBI is also expected to hold in-session activities, including: an in-session workshop on the NAMAs work programme; an in-session workshop on the need to improve coordination of support for implementation of mitigation actions in the forest sector; a least developed country (LDC) NAP event organized by the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG); the second Durban Forum on capacity-building; the first dialogue on Article 6 of the Convention; and the forum on the impact of response measures.
