7 May 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a note on terms of reference (ToR) for a report on options to facilitate collaborative technology research and development (R&D) relevant to environmentally sound technologies (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/INF.4).
The note presents the ToR, including the background, objectives and scope of the work, as well as the approach to organizing it. The Expert Group on Technology Transfer (EGTT) will explore options for facilitating collaborative R&D relevant to environmentally-sound technologies at the international, regional and national levels. It will also identify criteria that could be used to support decision-making on the allocation of funding to collaborative R&D activities. The Chair of the EGTT invites the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) to consider and endorse the ToR at its 32nd session, scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, from 31 May-9 June 2010.
