UNFCCC Publishes Nairobi Work Programme Progress Report

28 October 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report (FCCC/SBSTA/2011/INF.9) on progress made in implementing activities under the Nairobi work programme (NWP) on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change. The report provides an overview of the progress made in implementing activities under the NWP since the 34th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA).

The section of the report on progress made in implementing activities under the NWP includes sub-sections on: the continued engagement of organizations, institutions, experts, communities and the private sector in the activities of the NWP; progress made in implementing the interim activities mandated by the SBSTA at its 34th session; and information on the dissemination of outputs produced under the NWP. The report also outlines collaborations that have been catalyzed between NWP partner organizations and parties. It concludes with a brief overview of possible next steps. This report will be considered by the 35th session of SBSTA, which will take place in Durban, South Africa, from 28 November-3 December 2011.
