UNFCCC Publishes Fast-start Finance Submissions

The UNFCCC Secretariat has published fast-start finance submissions from the EU, Australia, Canada, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and the US.

These submissions will be considered by the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) in Durban, South Africa.

UNFCCC15 August 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published submissions (FCCC/CP/2011/INF.1) on information from developed country parties on the resources provided to fulfil the commitment referred to in decision 1/CP.16, paragraph 95 (The Cancun Agreements: Outcome of the work of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA) (Finance)).

This paragraph relates to the provision of information on the resources provided to fulfil the commitment by developed countries to provide new and additional resources, including forestry and investments, through international institutions, approaching US$30 billion for the period 2010–2012, with a balanced allocation between adaptation and mitigation, including ways in which developing country parties access these resources.

The Secretariat has received ten submissions, from the EU, Australia, Canada, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and the US. These submissions will be considered by the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) in Durban, South Africa, at the end of 2011.
