1 November 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a miscellaneous document containing Colombia’s submission on information from non Annex I parties on the detailed costs incurred, including in-kind contributions, for the preparation of their most recent national communications, and on the financial resources received through the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

The Colombian document includes a brief analysis on the allocation of donation funds in the development of Colombia’s two national communications. Their preparation has implied the development of other complementary activities such as the first National Inventory of Greenhouse Gases (GHG), the design and implementation of the National Adaptation Pilot Project, the production of climate scenarios at different temporal and spatial scales, and the elaboration of detailed synthesis of lessons learned. The submission also states that direct costs incurred by the Government of Colombia are still a subject of analysis, and results will be made available in the future.

At its 36th session, the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) invited non-Annex I Parties that have not already done so to submit their views on detailed costs incurred, including in-kind contributions, for the preparation of their most recent national communications, and on the financial resources received through the GEF by 17 September 2012, and requested the Secretariat to compile them for consideration by SBI 37.
