UNESCO Project Captures Brazilian Figures’ Ideas on Sustainability

Twenty public personalities from Brazil answered four questions related to: his or her concept of sustainability; making Brazil and the world more sustainable; priorities and initial starting points to achieve sustainability; and individual responsibilities within the construction of sustainability.

Videos of participants' responses have been compiled into 20 mini-conferences, which are being broadcast on Brazilian and Latin American television and online.

15 June 2012: The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has launched a project, “+20 Ideas to Rotate the World,” to collect and share the ideas and thoughts of 20 public personalities from diverse fields who are recognized in Brazil for promoting environmental, social and human development.

Each project participant answered four questions related to: his or her concept of sustainability; making Brazil and the world more sustainable; priorities and initial starting points to achieve sustainability; and individual responsibilities within the construction of sustainability. Videos of participants’ responses have been compiled into 20 mini-conferences, which are being broadcast on Brazilian and Latin American television and online.

Project participants represent a range of backgrounds, and include: a musician and songwriter; professors of economics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, political sociology and social anthropology; a poet; several researchers; and a radio commentator. [Project Website] [UNESCO Press Release]
