3 January 2011: The UN Environment Programme’s Regional Office for North America (UNEP RONA) has launched a webpage that focuses on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) in the North American region.

The webpage highlights SCP case studies from North America and serves as a platform for information on SCP in the region. It offers links to more information on UNEP RONA’s SCP work and other key regional SCP activities, consultations and meetings, including the first North American Workshop on SCP linked with the international Marrakech Process on SCP, which convened in Washington, DC, in November 2008. This meeting sought to define an integrated approach that would advance SCP in the region and contribute to the Marrakech Process. A second North American SCP workshop is scheduled to take place from 31 January-1 February 2011 in Ottawa, Canada, with a focus on green buildings.
