UNEP Launches Environmental Sustainability Exhibition

According to UNEP, as the world heads towards Rio+20, the exhibition demonstrates the role of art as an outreach tool to increase public awareness.

Works included in the exhibit depict various levels of interaction between humans and nature, showcasing humanity's dependence on nature, the pressures on the environment caused by human activities, as well as scenes of harmony between people and the natural world.

5 January 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has opened a seven-day exhibition on the environmental pillar of sustainable development. The exhibition, titled “Man and Nature,” is on display at UNEP headquarters, and is co-organized by the Fine Brush Painting Society of China.

According to UNEP, as the world heads towards the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) in June 2012, this exhibition demonstrates the role of art as an outreach tool to increase public awareness.
