UNEP Launches Advertising Competition on Water and Green Economy

The competition offers creative individuals from 48 European countries the opportunity to design a newspaper advertisement, to raise awareness on the sustainable use of water resources.

The competition is part of the UN campaign, the Future We Want, launched in the lead up to Rio+20, and linked to UNEP's GreenUp!

Europe programme, which aims to translates the key aspects of the green economy into people's everyday lives.

UNEP9 December 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP), together with the UN Regional Information Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC), the Nordic Council of Ministers, and the We Are Water Foundation, have launched a competition for advertisers in Europe, titled “The Future We Want – Drop by Drop.” The competition will highlight the links between water, the green economy, and the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

According to UNEP, the competition offers creative individuals from 48 European countries the opportunity to design a newspaper advertisement to raise awareness on the sustainable use of water resources.
