UNEP Invites Votes in World Environment Day Competition
story highlights

The top 10 bloggers in the World Environment Day (WED) competition “Rio+20 Big Blog Off!" have been selected.

The public is now invited to vote for their favorite blogger by 30 April 2012, based on two new articles to be prepared by each finalist.

4 April 2012: Earlier this year, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and TreeHugger invited green bloggers to submit an article to the World Environment Day (WED) competition “Rio+20 Big Blog Off!” A jury has now selected the top 10 bloggers, and the public is invited to vote for their favorite on the WED website.

Throughout April, the finalists will each publish two new articles on the following themes: “If You Ruled the World? – Action Plans for a Sustainable Century;” and “Rio+20 – It’s a Bit Quiet out There! – Mobilizing the Masses to Make June a Big Deal.”

Whichever blogger accumulates the most votes by 30 April 2012 will be declared the winner of the competition. The prize for winning the competition is a fully-paid trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (host country of WED 2012) to blog on activities taking place across the country on World Environment Day, which will be celebrated on 5 June 2012 on the theme “Green Economy: Does it Include You?” [UNEP Press Release] [Rio+20 Big Blog Off!
