UNEP IETC, ISWA Launch Preparation of Global Waste Management Outlook

The UN Environment Programme International Environmental Technology Centre (UNEP IETC), together with the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), announced they are jointly preparing the ‘Global Waste Management Outlook (GWMO).' The report will aim to provide a validated, comparative analysis on the state of waste management internationally, based on standardized policy indicators and benchmarks.

It is expected to be completed in early 2015.

It is expected to be completed in early 2015.

IETC says the report will address global challenges, trends, financial models and policies across the waste sector.

Extensive consultations with stakeholders are planned, with regional e-consultations scheduled from 20 December 2013-12 January 2014.

UNEP IETC and ISWA are seeking further contributors to the project, particularly sponsors to support face-to-face consultations. [IETC Press Release]
