The workshop, which was held on 28-29 September 2015 in Samoa, was part of a series of training workshops organized by UNDP in collaboration with the UNFCCC Secretariat to support countries in the preparation of their INDCs.

During the workshop, participants discussed their countries’ INDCs, highlighting their reasons for submitting INDCs and noting that political support for INDCs can be increased by aligning them with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) launched in September 2015. Participants also identified synergies between adaptation and mitigation, and the need to stress the co-benefits of INDCs and their links with national development goals. [UNDP Press Release]
