UNDP, Partners Announce Climate Change Finance Innovation Award

have announced the 'Climate Change Finance Innovation Award Contest,' which addresses the need for innovative financing concepts for scaled-up mitigation actions.

UNDPOctober 2014: The UN Development Programme’s Millennium Development Goal Carbon (UNDP MDG Carbon) and Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities Co., Ltd. have announced the ‘Climate Change Finance Innovation Award Contest,’ which addresses the need for innovative financing concepts for scaled-up mitigation actions.

Ideas submitted should lead to increased private and public investments in developing countries and assist in achieving sustainable, low carbon and green growth. Participants are expected to present ideas that: differ from existing and operational climate change mitigation funding mechanisms; are based preferably on real world examples of mitigation project and programmes in developing countries; and are replicable and can be incorporated into scaled-up mitigation activities.
