UNDP Administrator Highlights Priorities for Second Term

Helen Clark told the UN General Assembly (UNGA) that the focus of her second term as UN Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator will be on sustainable human development and poverty eradication, as well as achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and accelerating efforts "up to 2015 and beyond." She also said she will seek to make UNDP more transparent, accountable and effective.

12 April 2013: Helen Clark told the UN General Assembly (UNGA) that the focus of her second term as UN Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator will be on sustainable human development and poverty eradication, as well as achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and accelerating efforts “up to 2015 and beyond.” She also said she will seek to make UNDP more transparent, accountable and effective.

The UNGA confirmed UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s appointment of Clark to a second four-year term on 12 April 2013. Clark also serves as the Chair of the UN Development Group (UNDG).
