Gnacadja called for action to “scale up and scale out” what is known to work, saying that success stories in combating desertification, land degradation and drought occur at the grassroots level in many countries. He was in New York to attend the 17th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD), which is considering the thematic cluster of desertification, drought, land, agriculture, rural development and Africa.
