February 2014: The UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) has opened the application process for the 2014 Land for Life Award.

The Award aims to recognize organizations that are applying solutions to restore degraded land through policy, agricultural practices, education and awareness raising. The award provides winners with visibility and support to expand their work, and it raises awareness of the global benefits of soil generation and preservation.
