The first is a briefing note titled “The Implications of Climate Change for Water – Highlights on Climate Change from the third World Water Development Report.” It summarizes some of the key messages from the third UN World Water Development Report (WWDR), Water in a Changing World, of March 2009, highlighting the potential impacts of a changing climate on the availability of water and on the control of water extremes.

The second publication is a special report titled “Water and Climate Change – An Overview from the WWDR,” which describes the impacts of climate change on water, recognizing that water is at the root of a complex vulnerability dynamic. It then outlines responses to climate change focused on water, as well as proactive adaptation measures that require enabling policy conditions at all levels.
