UN Women Conducting Survey on Women’s Economic Empowerment in a Green Economy

The survey will identify experiences, initiatives, and approaches for "Promoting Women's Economic Empowerment in a Green Economy" and compile them into a report to be launched during the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

The survey can be completed online by 1 August 2011.

July 2011: UN Women is conducting a survey on “Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment in a Green Economy,” as part of the preparatory process for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).The survey aims to: gather experiences, lessons learned, pilots, and promising and innovative initiatives on women’s economic empowerment and participation in a green economy; and collect established and proven methodologies and approaches with substantial and documented impact on women’s economic empowerment in a green economy.

UN Women is expected to publish a report with the identified experiences and initiatives, to be launched during the UNCSD. The report will provide ideas for decision makers and development practitioners in government, the UN system, civil society and the private sector on concrete initiatives that can be scaled up and replicated to accelerate women’s economic empowerment in the green economy.

The deadline for contribution to and completion of the survey is 1 August 2011. The survey can be completed on-line. In addition to the survey, individuals interested in contributing to this research are invited to submit relevant supporting material such as photos, videos, training material, reports and evaluations via email to econ-emp.team@unwomen.org.
