UN-REDD Newsletter Focuses on COP 16

The November issue of the UN-REDD Newsletter outlines upcoming UNFCCC COP 16 activities, and reports on recent workshops and meetings on REDD+.

UNREDD Newsletter14 November 2010: The UN-REDD Programme has released its latest Newsletter on activities related to REDD+ (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and the role of conservation, sustainable use of forests and enhancement of carbon stocks).

The November Newsletter looks towards the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 16) and Forest Day 4, highlighting a number of activities that the Programme will host or participate in, including the launch of a new publication titled “Perspectives on REDD+.” The Newsletter also includes interviews with representatives from countries that were recently approved for funding for REDD-readiness activities by the UN-REDD Programme’s Policy Board. It also provides updates on recent meetings and workshops held on governance, corruption and opportunity cost, as well as a report from a UN-REDD mission to Nigeria. [The November Newsletter]
