The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that, in his talks with authorities, Holmes encouraged the Government of China to take a greater role in multilateral humanitarian efforts, and that both agreed on the need to step up UN-China cooperation on curbing disaster risk and bolstering preparedness, especially in the context of climate change.
