UN Global Compact Launches Rio+20 Website, Announces Corporate Sustainability Forum

The UN Global Compact launched a new website in support of the Corporate Sustainability Forum, to be held at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

At the Forum, the Global Compact will call on companies to follow up on the Rio priorities.

The Forum website will be updated regularly with information relevant to the UNCSD.

23 January 2012: The UN Global Compact has launched compact4rio.org, a new website on the forum on corporate sustainability that it plans to convene at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). Titled “Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum: Innovation and Collaboration for the Future We Want,” the event will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 15-18 June 2012.

The Forum, organized by the Global Compact in cooperation with the Rio+20 Secretariat, the UN System and the Global Compact Local Network Brazil, seeks to strengthen the business contribution to sustainable development globally, by promoting responsible business practices, advancing and disseminating sustainable innovation, and stimulating partnerships between the UN, civil society and corporations. At the Forum, the Global Compact will call on companies to follow up on the Rio priorities.
