23 July 2009: The UN’s Geneva headquarters (UNOG) has been awarded the Nature Reserve Certificate by the Swiss non-governmental organization Fondation Nature & Economie, which bestows the honor on entities that protect nature by managing at least 30% of the green areas around their buildings in a natural manner.
According to a press release, the certificate “constitutes and acknowledgment of UNOG’s firm commitment to climate neutrality.”
