8 November 2011: The Botanic Gardens of the Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms Universität of Bonn, Germany, and the Alexander von Humboldt Biological Resources Research Institute of Colombia joined the Consortium of Scientific Partners to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the CBD and the two institutions on the margins of the 15th meeting of the CBD Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA 15), convening from 7-11 November 2011, in Montreal, Canada.
