Two French Collections of Forages and Potato Included in the ITPGR MLS

France has notified the Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR) that two new collections of forages and potato are now included in the ITPGR Multilateral System (MLS) of Access and Benefit-sharing and available for transfer under the terms and conditions of the Standard Material Transfer Agreement (SMTA).

ITPGRJanuary 2014: France has notified the Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR) that two new collections of forages and potato are now included in the ITPGR Multilateral System (MLS) of Access and Benefit-sharing and available for transfer under the terms and conditions of the Standard Material Transfer Agreement (SMTA).

According to the notification by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry of France, the two collections, which are maintained by the National Agriculture Research Institute (INRA) in two different locations, bring to the MLS 622 new accessions. The first collection includes 531 accessions of forages located in Poitou-Charantes (Lusignan) while the second collection includes 91 accessions of potato located in Rennes (Ploudaniel).
