The symposium “Environmental Requirements and Market Access: Turning Challenges into Opportunities,” organized by the UN Environment Programme – the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNEP-UNCTAD) Capacity-Building Task Force on Trade, Environment and Development, took place on 3 October 2007, in Geneva, Switzerland.
Discussions focused on how developing countries can benefit from the market opportunities and technologies created by new environmental standards and requirements in export markets, aiming to explore proactive policies to support theses opportunities, focusing particularly on organic agricultural products.
