Submissions Invited for the Zayad Future Energy Prize

The prize awards innovation, long-term vision, and leadership in renewable energy and sustainability, and in 2013 will award US$4 million across five categories: large corporations; small and medium enterprises; nongovernmental organizations; lifetime achievements of individuals; and global high schools.

The window for entries closes 16 July 2012.

15 March 2012: The Zayad Future Energy Prize has announced that applications for the 2013 prize are now open. The prize awards innovation, long-term vision and leadership in renewable energy and sustainability, and in 2013 will award US$4 million across five categories: large corporations; small and medium enterprises; nongovernmental organizations; lifetime achievements of individuals; and global high schools.

According to the Zayad Future Energy Prize website, innovative energy solutions are urgently needed to meet the world’s energy challenges. The city of Abu Dhabi, as part of the legacy of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nayan, is taking a leadership role in meeting these challenges, by awarding innovative achievements and leadership in the global search for a sustainable energy future.

Finalists will be nominated by experts internationally. Winners will be chosen by a jury chaired by Rajendra Pachauri, Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The window for entries closes 16 July 2012. [Zayad Future Energy Prize Website]
