A Regional Awareness Raising Workshop on Fostering Stockholm Convention Implementation in Asia convened from 20-22 January 2009, in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The three-day workshop was attended by representatives from regional parties and covered broad issues relating to the implementation of the Convention. These included obligations under the Convention such as development and implementation of national plans, national reporting, registering exemptions, nominated Stockholm Convention centers and accessing technical assistance and the financial mechanism. The workshop also provided participants information on the relevant guidance available on these issues under the Convention.
