April 2012: The Stakeholder Forum has launched the Global Transition 2012 Newsletter, which aims to provide regular updates about the Global Transition 2012 initiative, including the dialogues and challenge papers.

Global Transition 2012 is an international network of developed and developing country organizations that are working together to catalyze a “Global Transition” to a “global green and fair economy that maximises well-being, operates within environmental limits and is capable of coping and adapting to global environmental change.” The initiative includes dialogues and “challenge papers” on key issues to be discussed at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). The newsletter provides updates of the initiative and these activities undertaken under it.

The first issue of the newsletter presents highlights from the Second Global Transition 2012 Dialogue on the New Economy, which focused on issues relating to the green economy. It includes a link to the “challenge paper” series, and also highlights other events on the “new economy,” including the “Transition to a New Economy Conference” held from 30 March-1 April 2012, and the “High-Level Meeting on Wellbeing and Happiness: Defining a New Economic Paradigm,” held on 2 April 2012.
