SPREP3 October 2014: The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) has launched the Pilot Programme for Climate Resilience’s Regional Technical Support Mechanism (RTSM). RTSM was announced during SPREP’s 25th Annual Meeting that convened in Majuro, the Marshall Islands, from 30 September – 2 October 2014.

According to SPREP, RTSM provides an online portal for technical experts to register their skills. Eligible countries can then request technical assistance to support climate and disaster-related priorities in the Pacific, to be financed by the associated Rapid Response Fund.

SPREP is the lead implementing agency for RTSM, which is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). [SPREP Press Release] [SPREP Press Release, RTSM] [25th Annual SPREP Meeting] [RTSM Website]
