SPREP and UNESCO Train Environmental Reporters in Vanuatu

The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) is carrying out a training session to strengthen environment reporting skills in the media sector, with focus on climate change and biodiversity.

The training is conducted with support from UNESCO and may be followed up with an additional session at the end of 2011.

28 February 2011: The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), with support from the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), is conducting a training session to strengthen environmental reporting skills in the media sector, from 28 February-4 March 2011, in Vanuatu.

The training session focuses on climate change and biodiversity, bringing together environment experts and local media. A Vanuatu Environment Media Award for all local media will be launched at the end of the training session. A follow-up training session towards the end of 2011 is also being discussed.
