SPC Hosts Francophone Workshop on Gender Analysis of Poverty in the Pacific

SPC hosted a workshop attended by 30 representatives of women's civil society organizations from French Polynesia, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna and New Caledonia.

The aim of the workshop was to build capacity to undertake gender analysis of poverty, understand that gender inequalities are hampering economic development and the well-being of Pacific Island people, and identify strategies to support women's economic empowerment.

SPC19 June 2012: The Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) hosted representatives of the Union des Femmes Francophones d’Océanie (Union of Francophone Pacific Women) from 10-14 June 2012, for a workshop on gender analysis of poverty.

According to SPC, the workshop was attended by 30 representatives of women’s civil society organizations from French Polynesia, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna and New Caledonia.
