June 2008: This event will take place in
Geneva, Switzerland, on 17 June 2008, and is organized by the South Centre,
together with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the UN and
other Geneva-based international organizations. The Dialogue will seek to raise
awareness of underlying causes and policy dilemmas related to energy, food and
livelihood security.

The event aims to provide a platform to discuss challenges faced by
developing countries in relation to the global food crisis and examine possible
policy/multilateral solutions, and strengthen developing countries’
participation in fora where this issue is being discussed. The discussion held
during the event will be reflected in a publication, which will be distributed
in Geneva and forwarded to G77 delegations in New York for future discussions
related to the food crisis. [Meeting
