Slovakia Assumes FOREST EUROPE Chairmanship

The seventh FOREST EUROPE Ministerial Conference held from 20-21 October 2015, in Madrid, Spain marked the end of Spain's chairmanship of FOREST EUROPE, with the Slovak Republic assuming the chairmanship.

The membership of the General Coordinating Committee also changed, with Sweden replacing Norway.

Fourth Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee for a Legally-Binding Agreement on Forests in Europe (INC-Forests4)21 October 2015: The seventh FOREST EUROPE Ministerial Conference, which convened from 20-21 October 2015, in Madrid, Spain, marked the end of Spain’s chairmanship of FOREST EUROPE, with the Slovak Republic assuming the chairmanship. The membership of the General Coordinating Committee also changed, with Sweden replacing Norway.

Following Spain’s four-year chairmanship, the Slovak Republic will now be chairing the process and host the Liaison Office and the next FOREST EUROPE Ministerial Conference. The General Coordinating Committee, which coordinates the work of FOREST EUROPE and is its financing body, is currently composed of representatives of Germany, the Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden and Turkey.
