SDSN Releases February Newsletter

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has released the February 2013 issue of its newsletter, highlighting the upcoming launch of SDSN in Paris, France, on 18 March, and in Berlin, Germany, on 19 March.

The launches will be accompanied by events and panel discussions with Jeffrey Sachs, Director of SDSN, and academics from the respective cities.

Launches of the program in Nigeria and Sweden will take place in May.

25 February 2013: The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has released the February 2013 issue of its newsletter, highlighting the upcoming launch of SDSN in Paris, France, on 18 March, and in Berlin, Germany, on 19 March. The launches will be accompanied by events and panel discussions with Jeffrey Sachs, Director of SDSN, and academics from the respective cities. Launches of the program in Nigeria and Sweden will take place in May.

The newsletter notes that SDSN has submitted a background paper on the urban dimension of sustainable development to the UN High-level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda (HLP), ahead of its meeting in Bali, Indonesia, on 25-27 March.

In addition, in February, SDSN launched its Solutions Initiative in Sub-Saharan Africa, which aims to train and equip healthcare workers with mobile phones and broadband access. This effort is to be expanded over the next few years, and anticipates helping one million workers by the end of 2015.
