Samoa Reviews Water and Sanitation Sector

Under the theme "Water Conservation in Samoa," stakeholders and key development partners participated in a three-day Review to discuss progress, achievements and challenges faced by Samoa's water and sanitation sector from July 2010 to June 2011.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and European Union (EU) fund the country's Water and Sanitation Sector Policy Support Programme (WaSSP), which hosted the review.

Samoa Water Authority11 November 2011 : The Government of Samoa recently held the Fourth Annual Review of its Water and Sanitation Sector. Under the theme “Water Conservation in Samoa,” stakeholders and key development partners participating in the three-day Review discussed progress, achievements and challenges faced by the sector from July 2010 to June 2011.
Samoa’s Water and Sanitation Sector Policy Support Programme (WaSSP), which is funded by the European Union (EU) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), hosted the Review. WaSSP focuses on improved planning and water resource management in Samoa. The lead implementing agency for the programme is the Samoa Water Authority (SWA) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE). [Website of SWA] [IISD RS Sources]
